PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Fortune 10 technology firm needed a comprehensive pitch deck to promote a new internal app, 'Project Application.' This app revolutionizes how internal teams submit, process and execute purchase orders for data center construction projects globally. The deck would play a pivotal role in showcasing the application's benefits and securing buy-in from thousands of stakeholders across 12 internal teams.
ROLE:
Creative communications consultant, leading a team of writers, a graphic designer, a change manager and a communications manager, while collaborating with UX designers to ensure alignment on design principles for the campaign. Oversaw strategic planning, creative development, and execution of the pitch deck, ensuring it aligned with the firm's internal branding and communications goals.
IDEATION:
Inspiration for the deck emerged from the communications team. Our goal was to effectively highlight Project Application's advantages over the old system. We focused on time savings, error reduction, and improved workflow efficiency. Strategic sessions were held to ensure the deck resonated with both technical and non-technical audiences.
CAMPAIGN CREATION PROCESS:
1. Research and Collaboration: Understanding Project Application's features and stakeholder needs was paramount to developing effective communications assets, achieved through conversations and working sessions with development teams.
2. Strategic Planning: Developing a project schedule, a project plan and a communications plan that aligned with campaign objectives ensured on-time delivery of the deck.
3. Design Development: Working with the visual development team to match Google Cloud's internal branding, every detail of the deck was painstakingly thought out to create maximum impact on audiences, from color selection to font usage and graphical assets.
4. Content Creation: The journey from bullet points to carefully crafted and beautifully written copy was built on a foundation of clear, engaging messaging that highlighted individual features and benefits, supported by detailed graphical mockups.
5. Feedback and Revisions: Stakeholder feedback at every stage of the design and writing processes was of key importance to ensure the team was on the right track. Stakeholder feedback was incorporated to ensure the final product met all expectations.
IMPACT AND REFLECTION:
The deck successfully communicated Project Application's revolutionary features and impact on reducing latency, minimizing errors, and enhancing workflow.
Its visually striking design and detailed mockups captured attention and buy-in from stakeholders at all levels. The campaign tagline, 'Unprecedented gains. End to end alignment. Portfolio-spanning visibility,' resonated strongly, building excitement and anticipation for the product.
The campaign captured the client organization's ethos of pushing boundaries, innovating internal employee workflows, driving significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement.
